I sent this post last Thursday, but could not find it in the list of articles.
My apologies if this has been posted before.

I have setup and am maintaining several shell and perl scripts to perform some DBA tasks. So far, I have included the sys password in the scripts whenever I connect to Oracle. I am now trying to find a way to avoid the oracle password inclusion in the scripts. Anyone has experience in this area?

I appreciate some pointers.
