Yup, you got that right. I went through my first, almost 45 minute, technical interview on Oracle. I did alright mostly until the end, when the interviewer first asked me to describe over the phone a COUNT query against a single table, then describe a COUNT query involving ten tables where the result set must show the count for each month, one per each table. I had a "brain freeze" right there. I knew he was asking for a crosstab query, but all I could describe was a Cartesian product query.

As said in the movie "Top Gun": "One must evaluate what has happen, so he can apply what was learned." So I need to learn more about the technical interview over the telephone and learn how to give syntax verbally. Received on Mon Apr 15 2002 - 09:36:39 CDT
