Hi,
I read all possibile guides, I read hundreds of messages in newsgroup...
but I doesn't work!
I am not able to install Oracle 8.1.7 under Suse Linux 7.2 Professional
because the installation stops!
The Oracle Universal Installer starts, I can choose:
- the file locations (source and destination),
- the UNIX group name (I choose DBA),
- the product to install (Oracle8i Entrprise 8.1.7.0.1),
- the installation type (Typical),
- the JDK directory (/usr/lib/jdk1.1.8),
- the Database Identification (Global Database Name: A, SID: A)
at this step (the Database Identification) I press NEXT and it doesn't
continue; looking at the pointer it has the classic "watch form", but
the disk doesn't work! No error messages! Nothing!
Have you never seen a similar situation?
