Storing objects in a RDBMS?

Hi,



I only have the option to store objects in a relational database. Since
there are many objects, speed will become an issue. In which database,
brand,do I get the highest speed storing objects? Is there any benchmark
programs to test the performance of the database (prefer java). Anyone
out there with hints?
