Removing the SQL_AUTHENT parameter doesn't seem to affect the problem.

I'm also looking at the REMOTE_OS_AUTHENT parameter in the init.ora file, which is currently set to FALSE. The database is pretty small/basic and most of the default initialization parameters are being used.

I was hoping that it was a "simple" issue related somehow to differences in NT and 2000 security privileges implementation.
