Windows 2000 privileges for Oracle Databases

Background:
We use a series of NT domain groups to grant privileges/rights to our applications. These applications read/write to a central Oracle database (Oracle8.1.6 Ent). A user must be part of a certain group in order to perform certain actions within the applications. These users are all members of the NT domain users group.

When I install the system in a Windows2000 mixed mode domain, I see "SQLSetConnectAttr failed" errors when attempting to open the applications as a user who is not a member of the domain admin group. Everything works fine for members of the domain admin group.

Question:
Is there a privilege (or set of privileges) that needs to be explicitly granted to a Windows 2000 domain user group that is granted by default to the NT domain user group? Without a whole lot of details, does ayone have a recommendation?

Thank you for any help Received on Wed Mar 27 2002 - 14:48:11 CST
