I have seen some utilities to actually append XX number of spaces in front of the UN/PWD. I guess 80-100 spaces might be ok to hide it from ps, top or similar tools.

One time I tried intentionally to find out the whole command line for a running program, that proved to be impossible task at least in Solaris. If the command line is long enough there is no way to see the rest of the line. OR if someone really knows the trick pls let me know.
