DBCS data stuffed into WE8ISO8859p1 DB

this is a tough one...

I am working with an Oracle 8 DB that was configured with a "WE8ISO88951P" Database Character set . The problem is that "tons" of inserts have taken place, using data from Japan, China and Korea.

When I access the data, it only appears correct when my machine is using the appropriate code page.

How can I pull the data from a VARCHAR2 that contains multibyte info???
