I'm trying to install Oracle 8i onto Linux with no success.



I have created a specific user for the installation as per instructions but
no matter what I do it never gets past the message
"Intializing Java Virtual Machine from


../stage/Components/oracle.swd.jre/1.1.8/1/DataFiles/Expanded/linux/bin/jre.
Please wait..."
