You might think I'm insane but everything I am about to tell you is true.

Oracle 8i http_server with mod_plsql

    NLS_LANG=american_united kingdom.UTF8

Sun Sparc Solaris 2.8
Netscape 4.7 on NT.

  1. If DHTML is present and has been used for temporary layers / objects switching between visible / hidden.
  2. Then go to any other window so as to obscure the browser.
  3. When you return to the browser all the text has turned to squares!!!!!!

If I test the code without going via oracle http then all is fine and I cannot recreate the problem!

Can I explicitly specifiy a character set to avoid this problem.

MS Explorer is fine.

Cheers,
