External procedures are running on the server. They use the IPC protocol, which stands for Inter Process Communication. This is a *local* protocol, it doesn't work in client/server situations. It is *never* going to work on a client, the server executes external procedures on the server on behalf of the client. I'm not too sure whether an EXTPROC definition needs a SID, please verify that in the documentation.
