Okay, I guess I'm looking for opinions on this one: if I've got Oracle9i installed on Windows (I'll be installing it on Linux in not too long, too), & I've got this Oracle DBA Complete Video Course & Interactive Workbook. It's good; but it focuses only on 8i. I've got 8i (8.1.7); but I'd like to go further in 9i if I've got the option to. Only thing is I'm getting a bit lost in issues I've got with 'connecting as internal', oradim, etc. If I've only got to overcome a few issues like this, & if I figure them out in not too long, I'll be glad to live with it; but it's important to me that I learn Oracle for now, not one version of it or the other...& I've got these nice instructions for 8i. I'd be interested in others' opinions on how I ought to look at this. Is 8i obsolete now?, or if I learn 8i is it going to be opposing my own interests in going to 9i later on..., etc. Thanks,
