Uphill struggle, you would have been better off with SuSE, at least that's certified. Ok this *may* work
Create a user oracle in the group oinstall
log into XWindow as oracle
open a terminal in XWindow and type unset LANG
mount the cd as root
type /(mount point)/runInstaller
install Oracle but do NOT allow it to create a db, save it as a script
finish the installation
download the glibc-stubs patch
copy it to $ORACLE_HOME
untar the patch
type ./setup
once patched cd to $ORACLE_HOME/dbca and run the script to create your
database
Best of luck. Like I said SuSE is certified.
