RMAN scripts question...

Dear All,

Oracle Backup & Recovery Guide says that in order to create RMAN scripts you should be connected to catalog database only. But when I try to do this I get

RMAN-03013: command type: replace script RMAN-06171: not connected to target database

When I am connected to both target and catalog databases while creating script I can't access it from another target database. How can I make RMAN scripts target database independent, i.e. I would like to use them from all target databases registered in RMAN catalog.

I use Oracle 8.1.7.0.0 on W2K Server.

Thanks in advance,
