This is how it is done - and you have to do it either from the "SQL*Plus" Editor or from one of the gui-tools. I prefer Benthic-Software's "Golden" (www.benthicsoftware.com), others like "TOAD" from Quest Software. A free version of toad you can download from www.toadsoft.com.

For "Golden" you have to pay, but you can download a 30-day's trial.
