8i Personal password problem

I have seen other similar questions here, but none of the answers fix my
problem. When starting 8i Personl Edition as Oracle is "Checking
security..." a box pops up that says "Password:". There is no username
or anything else, simply Password. Does anybody know what the magically
password is? I have tried every imaginable default password Oracle has.
What causes this problem? How to fix? Thanks.
