IMNSHO, or by a URL (or other pointer) to the actual location of it online or in the accompanied documentation.

Sometimes, a person replying can be too frustrated to give an answer to a stupid question. Posting a URL is not too bad. Personally, I have given URLs in the past feeling my reply was so simple that the OP would be embarrased at having asked.

Giving an answer too may give the reader the encouragement to not read the manual again.
