Hi Dharmesh,

Oracle Forms is a proprietary tool for developing client server applications. It was used to develop early versions of Oracle's applications, and is still in use at many companies. But, IMHO, it is a dying technology.

I work at an ISV, and Oracle is pushing 9iAS very hard to replace our distributed applications. However, it has a steep learning curve, and is very expensive. I have not seen any rush to adopt this product.

I don't seen any particular synergy between Oracle and Java, except that both are corporate standards. (Oracle does have decent Java support.)
