Hi Matt,

"envious" is just the word I would use...

You would just install the Oracle server software in a directory like c:\oracle\8.1.7 (or whatever you choose) on each node. Put the Fail Safe software into a separate Oracle Home (again on each node). I cleverly used c:\oracle\failsafe for this. When you go about creating the database you would specify the 'shared' drive for all the database files in the create script. On the cluster I support, I have all the Oracle software, the password file, and the init file on the 'c:' drive of each node. The 'e:' drive (the 'shared' drive) contains the control files, the redo log files, the database files, and the archived redo log destination directory. I would like to be able to spread the files across multiple drives, but I don't have that luxury. I'm doing this from the top of my head right now, so I may have left a file or two out...

Another thing I would highly recommend is putting the Oracle resources in a separate group inside of MS Cluster Administrator. I think this is mentioned in the docs, but don't recall for sure.

Anyway, you may have solved it by now, but, if not, I'll try to provide any more info/details if you'd like...

Thanks,

LM
