try this

Use Oracle 8.1.5 Database's Export utility to create a dump file of 8.1.7 database . If you don't have service to connect to 8.1.7 ,then use net 8 configuaration assistant to do that . after you create dump file from 8.1.5 Export utility, try to do import using 8.1.5 import utility to import data in 8.1.5 database.
