loadjava (ora-12560)

Hi,
I have a problem that is driving me mad, 3 days so far( I only want to get this 1 class into the dbf)

When ever I use the loadJava command:

I get
sql error while connecting with the oci8 driver to default database: ora-12560: tns:protocol addapter error.

when ever I use
loadjava -h
or
loadjava -user oracle/xxxxxxx_at_tcp_int_oracle -resolve javaclass.zip I get the above.

Also the loadjava command seems to only work from certain directories.

I can connect to the database using the above login &: sql from win 98
odbc
and testing the connections using the oracle tools all give o.k

any help pls
