Oracle Reports/Form Letters

Hi all,

I am hoping this is the easiest question ever asked here. I am sorta new to Oracle and have been using Webdb (not yet upgrade to Portal) and I need to create simple form letter reports. I know there has got to be an easy way to do this but cannot find it anywhere.

Here's what I have tried so far:

I would ideally like to have the reports web based. I work for a state court system and basically, I want to query a large Oracle database for information and then print the summons with appropriate docketing info and correct petitioners etc. I tried using WebDB's dynamic pages for a couple hours until I read the one sentence in the manual that indicated you couldn't use bind variables in your Oracle tags....figures.

Right now we are using Visual Basic to dump the data into WordPerfect documents but that is insanely cumbersome. I don't have to do all the work but I don't know my java beans from my jumping beans. Programming the stuff takes forever and I know there has got to be some graphical interface to do this stuff. I mean come on, I can do it MSWorks for crying out loud.

Anyways, I am hoping that one of you Oracle geniuses have a 5 sec answer that will point me in the right direction. I have a pretty good grasp on html (have designed many web sites) a book on JavaScript etc. Not too good with ODBC but am willing to learn.

Thanks for any advice you can provide.
