Won't work with differing versions. You may be able to fire up Oracle 7.x (same version) as the DB was running, copy the files over, startup nomount and create a new controlfile would probably be your easiest way I think. This is assuming you can't duplicate the file layout on your new machine.

Also, remember that copying files from CD will probably mark them as readonly, so change that to r/w first! Received on Mon Sep 10 2001 - 09:54:23 CDT
