OWS: Subsystem COA has an error in bringing up catridge type

We are running a Oracle 8.0.5 database on a SUN E3500 with SunOS 5.6. OWS is version 3.0.2.

The problem: I can start the admin listener but when I try to start a cartridge I get:

in bringing up catridge type MTPRTjd. `

Even when I try to use the web admin frontend and go to Web Application Server Manager/Oracle Web Application Server/Cartridge Administration
I get the message

Warning: To be able to configure any of the following
- WRB

PL/SQL Agent
Boot page you need to use the Admin Listener on Primary Node mortar.

But I started the admin listener, I can open the web frontend for the administration!

Need urgent help...
