| I am not sure this is the correct forum for this question, but someone
| may have the answer.
|
| We are running Oracle v8.0.1 Enterprise Server on a Compaq Alpha Server
| 8400 running Digital UNIX 4.0E.
|
| We were accessing the DB on the Server from a Workstation running NT
| 4.0, Oracle 8.0 Client, and Merant ODBC 3.6.
|
| I upgraded the workstation from NT 4.0 to Windows 2000. My question is
|
| Can I install Oracle 8.0 Client on Windows 2000 and configure it as it
| was under NT or do I need Oracle 8.1.7 for the workstation ?

We have Oracle 8.0.5 on a Win NT servers and on Win 2000 servers - as far no problems (other than user/admin regular problems). We access those servers with Oracle clients 8.0.5 and 8.1.7 from different workstations (win 9x,NT,200) - usually no problems... We have never had problems with accessing 8i or 8.0.x server with Oracle client 8.0.x but few times we had problems with Oracle client 8i accessing 8.0.x.
