Hi all,

Installed Oracle server 8i on an NT 4 Server box - no problems at all.

Created a database called dope23 (no funny remarks about the name please - not my choice!!).

The listener and the database are showing as started in the services.

However, when I try to create an SQL+ connection using the Net8 Configuration assistant for the database, it keeps on saying that the listener could not resolve the service name.

Can anybody tell me why this is happening and how to stop it occurring please?

TIA and rgs.
