hi,

i have just installed personal oracle 8.1.7 on windows 2000. according to the installer every thing went well and a database has been created the the global database name "football.league" and an SID of
"Football".

the problem is i can't seem to open DBA Studio except in standalone mode.

i wish to open dba studio and log on to the oracle management server however
all the information i seem to give is rejected.  initially i am told that i have not yet created a management server, so i add
one called "Football" -the name of my database. i am unsure whether "FOOTBALL" is the name of a service or a management server.

however i do not know what to type in the edit boxes for "administrator" or
"password"

i know that when i loaded oracle PE i was given three usernames and passwords

username:- INTERNAL password:- *****
username:- SYS password:- change_on_install
username:- INTERNAL password:- manager

i can start the SQL worksheet by giving any of the above info and putting
"FOOTBALL" in for the service name.

I think i have missed something obvious but the help in this version is not very comprehensive at all.

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks in advance.
