You can also order the CDs - through the Tech Tracks on TechNet. At US$200, it may seem expensive, but you get all related CDs and 3 updates through the year (automatically).

I strongly advise using TechNet at the URL below - lots of product information, lots of code examples, all product documentation, chat sessions manned by Oracle Support or Product Managers.

And I recommend getting some good books - personally I like to recommend O'Reilly's Oracle Essentials (see http://oracle.oreilly.com/) to help serious newbies get on the right track. It's an overview that saves reading about 10,000 pages of the other books (most of which are either tooooo simple or just right for someone who has a lot of experience).
