I don't have the documentation to hand but, believe that if, after the restoration you do (I would use svrmgrl): recover database using backup controlfile until cancel; (all on one line)
then - cancel
then alter database open resetlogs;
this should unset the recovery bits in the datafiles and you should be up and running.
