I'll try to answer your question in the most neutral way even though I personally consider SQL Server pretty much Access Pro.

Which is better depends on your criteria. If your criteria are stability, scalability, performance, security, and support the choice is clearly Oracle.

If you are Windows-centric, have no formal training in IS/IT, never read a manual, have no interest in investing time in learning but just want to immediately be productive (as in hacking away at it) by all means choose SQL Server.

If your criteria is personal financial gain ... you will find that Oracle Developers and DBAs make considerably more those that learn the other program. Probably because the actually have to invest time and effort into doing so.
