If by "any other database" and your reference to "SQL 7.0" you mean what I think you mean. No: You can not.

Replicating from Oracle 7.3.4 to 8.1.5 is not only possible it is simple.

PS: The product name is SQL Server. In spite of the fact that Microsoft likes to pretend it invented computing it didn't. SQL is an ANSI standard language. SQL Server is a product. If you want to communicate with people and have them understand you please have the courtesy to make the distinction.

And do yourself another favor. Do not try to use what you know of SQL Server to work in Oracle. You will end up hating Oracle, doing lousy work, and we will not exactly overflow with affection toward you. Read the Oracle manuals and books and write PL/SQL not TSQL. They are very different as are the products.
