not much help, but a question

you are using 2000, are you using Active Directory for user Authentication?

and are you using OS authentication for your applications

if so there might addtional things you need to do for this to work...

I was looking at migrating oracle servers running on NT to 2000 and came across an oracle article.

"How to Install Oracle 8.1.6 with Integration for Windows 2000 Active Directory" Note:111424.1

I know oracle's online help is not as open source as microsoft, but this might help.. you can get it through metalink..
