Stored Proc help

I am fairly new to Oracle and have worked mainly in MS Sql. In stead of posting millions of questions on this site, I would prefer if someone could direct me to a good site for information. I am mainly involved in writing stored procedures and triggers for a database.

Currently I am struggling to create a stored procedure that creates and manipulates data in a table. It does not seem to be possible to create a table within a SP, is this true and what could I have a look at to try and get a workaround?
