Once upon a time it would have been far easier to migrate to Sybase. Depending upon what SQL Server features you have used that is no longer the case. But quite frankly the biggest concerns I would have going to Sybase vs. Oracle would be:

  1. The lack of third-party tools and support
  2. The lack of books at the local bookstore
  3. The very real possibility that Sybase may go out of business as its marketshare is becoming insignificant.
