Allen,

You could try a specialist addressing package like QAS from QuickAddress Software, which finds a UK address from a house number and postcode, or Sartori Software which handles US and Canadian addresses. The compoments are limited to a windows platform, I believe.

The company I work for is getting ready to buy 100+ million street addresses for a lookup table. The application will have users enter part
of an address and then we need to return the closest matches. We'd like to have it use fuzzy searches so that close spelling or sounding entries will still be located. It looks like intermedia for Oracle will do the trick. My question is if anyone else has done this already so I don't have to reinvent the wheel. Any references much appreciated...
