Oracle installation, SQLExplorer & connectivity

I'm having problems starting up SQL Explorer on a Mandrake-LINUX 2.14 installation. How should I be
able to start this up - from which directory and what startup command to use.

I'm not even sure I have Oracle installed properly. How can I tell - by checking ENV or something else.

Also, can anyone suggest the easiest way to connect a WIN98 PC to the PC running Mandrake-LINUX? Would
this have full network capabilities or just sharing capabilities?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
