I am using the latest Oracle jdbc thin and oci drivers to run the same query against the same database in a client-server environment. I was expecting the OCI driver to be quicker but , for this query anyway, it is marginally slower. I was hoping someone out there may have identfied some specific factors which consistently influence the performance of the two drivers?

Many thanks in advance
