ORA-01160: file is not a data file

hello! I am trying to create a controlfile in new location in order to use all the datafile from another location and got this error:

ORA-01503: CREATE CONTROLFILE failed
ORA-01160: file is not a data file
ORA-01110: data file : '/u07/path1/system01.dbf'

I am little confused with this error, because why is the system file not a data file? I copied this system file from last nights hot backup. I am using oracle 8.1.5 on Solaris. Thanks. Received on Thu Feb 22 2001 - 14:52:59 CST
