I agree with Sybrand.
Have managed several systems that tried to do detailed auditing, most of
them failed to satisfy user in the end.
Q : what are the exact requirements ? why do it ?
Some solutions I see :
Combination of the above may also work for you.
Most important : Purge the audited data.
Open for other suggestions,
