Hi,

is there anyone who has the same expirience:

Installed Oracle 8.1.5 on Dig. Unix 5.1 on a GS320 server from Compaq.

According to the install notes on unix systems from Oracle the shared memory size should be from 8mb min to 2Gb max.
We set the parameter on 8 mb.

Running the database and let it crash, system reboot. After reboot, starting database wil not open and mentioned an ora600 error. No recovery possible.
Altered the kernel parameter to 16 Mb
Rebooted the system and started the database. At this point the database was recovered and running smoothly.

Has anyone the same expirience ? It wasn't as Oracle said according to the installation manual.

Thank you so far
