Hi,

I have the same problem on RedHat 7, 128 MB RAM, Celeron 333, Oracle 8.1.6
The installation hanged up during the database initialization. I tried to start dbassist but it always hangs after I select an operation (delete, create etc.).
Resently I used Oracle 7 and Oracle 6. There was a DBA tool called sqldba in those systems.
What can be used instead of sqldba in Oracle 8, to create database manually?
What shoud I check in my installation?

Thanks
