Salary: $100-140K + Bonus + Benefits

RESPONSIBILITIES:   a.. All aspects of database design, implementation and management for all Pearson Education Information Systems
  b.. Management for Sybase databases for Sales, Publishing and UPPS School group
  c.. Management of Oracle databases for all Pearson Ed. Internet, Intranet and Data Warehouse applications

  d.. Management of the Informix databases
  e.. Directing a team, of Sybase, Oracle and Informix database admin.
  f.. Staffing responsibilities for Database Management department
  g.. Responsible for directing all DBA projects, meeting with customers,
project requirements etc.
  h.. Developing and implementing a bulletproof backup and recovery strategy for all different platforms, Unix, NT
QUALIFICATIONS: Responsible for the administration of all database servers managed by the Systems Infrastructure department. This includes management of Oracle, Sybase and Informix database servers running on all Pearson Education Unix servers.

  a.. 5+ years of experience with Oracle and Sybase database Administration   a.. Ability to direct multiple complex database projects and supervise database administrators on multiple platforms   b.. Extensive work experience in a 7x24 database support environment Formal education BA degree or equivalent in a related field
