CLASSPATH and XSQL Servlet with FOP

Hi everyone,

I have a 8.1.7 Database running and am trying to install FOP jar files for use with XSQL pages. I copied the fop_bin_0_14_0.jar and w3c.jar to the /xdk/lib directory where the other .jar files are located.

The doc says these files have to be in the CLASSPATH and everything should work, but it doesn't. Now I have two questions: Where is the CLASSPATH stored for the Oracle JServer? It is not in the environment variables (SET, I'm using W2k) as it would be in a "normal" Java environment. I couldn't find it in the Oracle Parameters, either... So where is it?

Second, is it sufficient to copy a .jar file to a directory that's in the CLASSPATH, or do i have to "loadjava" it into the database to be able to use it from the XSQL servlet?

To those who think of those questions as being rather stupid (as I do), do you have recommendations for a good book on this Oracle/Java subject? All of the docs or books concerning Oracle and Java are about programming, not about administration - and all the admin reference for Oracle I have doesn't contain a thing about Java or JServer... So where is the f*** manual???

Cheers,
