I had, but in looking through other machines running the same version of Net8, I noticed that somehow I had a newer version of MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components), and I suspected maybe the older version of Net8 (8.0.5, I think) wasn't working with the newer MDAC setup.

I downloaded and installed a newer version of the Net8 client, and everything's fine now--finally!
