#1 How many Oracle homes does the the client have? ( HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ORACLE\ALL_HOMES\HOME_COUNTER ) #2 What is the driver (
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ODBC\ODBC.INI\dsn_name\Driver ) for both DSNs?

My wild guess is that #1 is a value greater than 1. That, the values for #2 for each is different. And, that if you drop the two DSN, create two new ones, you'll experience identical behavior (both good or both bad). Upgrading Oracle 8x ODBC drivers does NOT necessarily upgrade the existing DSNs. Just an idea.
