Sorry in advance if this is an off topic, I'm new on this NG. My question is this:
In my company we are using an AS400 for legacy ledger system, and recently (no more than 3 years) we had developed some application on PC side that are using Oracle.
I had previous experiences in MS SQL, but now we... me I'm happy to use Oracle.
Now, however, we are looking for a new legacy, and to rest on AS400 is a bond for economical and politicaly reasons. Actually the software on AS400 isn't use DB2, but the new software use this DB. The system is multi-platform, there is also the possibility to have the version on Oracle, but the bond on AS400 still remain. So my question is "if I need to choose a solution on Oracle or on DB2, why it's better oracle rather than DB2??" (we are using Oracle on NT servers)
And another question, were a can find a comparative white-paper or an article about the improvement of Oracle and of DB2? Thanks in advance for your attention and sorry again if this is an off topic.
If you have a FAQ to recommend me, please. Bye
