Installing 8.1.6 on RedHat 6.2

I read the excellent instruction at:

http://jordan.fortwayne.com/oracle/ as well as the instructions from Oracle technet.

The environmental variables, mount point and user/groups are all set. Whe I run runInstaller from the command prompt I get the following error:

Has anyone seen this issue? I'm stuck. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
