One of the many announcements that got my enthusiasm up at the worldwide  user conference in San Diego in April was that Pick Systems would be setting themselves up as Application Service Providers. Find out more at http://www.picksys.com/asp/home.html

I guess the viability of this sort of thing depends to some extent on your location. I wonder what plans there are for people outside the US. It would be great to see Pick Systems set this sort of hosting service up in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, UK & France (and others - maybe making use of what was Omnis infrastructure).

If Pick Systems were to raise their profile, not just in the US, it would be to the benefit of us all - customers included. I hear whispers that there is a change of name coming, by the way. I've got mixed feelings about this. If the name changes will people think that the company is somehow ashamed of it's heritage? I've been fielding all sorts of ill-informed criticism levelled at Pick for so long. Whatever happens, I'm still looking forward to being able to say "I told you so".

Cheers,
Mike.
