I had that same problem also, and Sybrand is right, Oracle 8i PE doesn't installed under WinME - I reformat and put 98 onto my PC and it installed smoothly.

A friend of mine installed it in Win2000 and it works smooth also - so if you want a close interface to ME, then 2000 will be the way to go.
