MSORCL32.DLL vs MDAC 2.1 SP2

We've encountered the following problem with MDAC 2.1 SP2: if the VB 6.0 application is left more than one minute without any activity, the entire application freezes. This problems does not exist on machines where MDAC 2.0 is installed. We are using Oracle7. The problem is resolved if we replace the Microsoft ODBC driver for Oracle, msorcl32.dll, with the version from MDAC 2.0, which comes with VB 6.0.
